Description
Appellant Janette Cornette was injured in an accident while operating a press manufactured by the appellee on August 14, 1974. The press was equipped with a pousson pull back safety device. The pousson prevent the press from closing unless the appellants hands were at least three inches from the pinch point. But on August 14, the appellant while reaching into the press had the significant portions of her index, middle and ring fingers of both hands severed from her hands. Almost three years later, June 3, 19778 the appellant brought a third-party products liability suit against the appellee who manufactures the press and against the Positive Safety Manufacturing Company which produces the pousson safety device. Positive Safety Manufacturing has been dismissed as party in the case. The only parties to this appeal are Janette Cornette and the Rousselle Corporation.
